Selangor Has More...


This blog post is an entry submission for Tourism Selangor Writing Competition.


Tourism Selangor is currently having Tourism Selangor Writing Competition, all you have to do is to write a blogpost between 9-15 April 2011.


What does 'Selangor Has More'? The answer is me! I was born and raised in Puchong, Selangor. (Put this aside, lets get into serious business)


My family and my friend from Hong Kong (left) in front of my house.


Being a true breed of Selangor, there are many interesting places and mouth-watering dishes to show others what 'Selangor Has More'. Each demontrates the uniqueness of the people in Selangor.



Lets start with places to go.



Batu Caves


Batu Caves is located in Sentul. Scaling up the 272 steps of stairs is not an easy task. There are 3 big caves with Hindu shrines located in the main cave. To get there, you just need to board on KTM Komuter train and stop at Batu Caves station. The cave is waliking distance from the station.



Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple


Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen temple is located in Jenjarom. It will be decorated differently every year during Chinese New Year and it is a definite place to visit with the rich flora and fauna.



Royal Selangor Plant


Royal Selangor produce sourvenirs made of pewters. The gallery is open to public for visit and to learn more about the production process.


i-City Shah Alam


i-City is a commercial hub installed with millions of LEDs with different theme that looks like a colourful forest.


Next the food.


Kajang satay


Kajang satay is a must have in Selangor. The juicy and tender meat is barbeque till perfection accompany by peanut sauce and condiments such as cucumber and onions.
